A
great day was had by all on Bank Holiday Monday @ Grosvenor Vale as
the two teams battled to deliver an entertaining 4-4 draw. Thanks to
organiser Roge Slater, Match Sponsor Nick Woolford, all those
involved in the back room who made sure that events went well and
that refreshments and food were available throughout, the players,
match officials and finally all those who gave generously to the
'bucket' collection

50th
Anniversary Celebration
is
a huge success
Wealdstone
FC Supporters Club (WFCSC) celebrated their 50th anniversary
milestone last Sunday evening with former Stone's player and current
England under 21 Manager Stuart Pearce the main guest speaker.
The
glittering event, which took place at the Watford Hilton Hotel was a
huge success and attracted over 250 guests and supporters, including
former players from the 60's, 70s and 80s. Guests were also
entertained royally by Radio 5 live presenter Rob Nothman who also
acted as MC and auctioneer during the evening.
Chairman
of WFCSC, David Albert, who also organised the event was delighted
at how the evening went: 'We wanted something really special to
celebrate our 50th anniversary as a club and we certainly got it; we
had a magnificent response from a huge range of people connected with
the club and beyond - we even had two supporters fly in from Italy to
be there. Stuart was fantastically accommodating and showed once
again that he will never forget his roots and we thank him for taking
precious time out to be with us'
At
the end of the evening, Pearce was presented with a special framed
montage of his first and last matches during his four and a half year
playing career with Wealdstone and a framed photograph of him in
action during his first team debut at Dorchester Town FC on 3 March 1979.
The
Supporters Club is very confident that record proceeds would have
been raised from the evening that included an auction of Wealdstone
and footballing memorabilia and the sale of a special souvenir
programme together with a 50th anniversary badge. Monies raised will
go toward the parent club's current fundraising drive as they move to
their new ground at Grosvenor Vale, Ruislip Manor.
Sponsored
Walk 26th Apr 2008
Congratulations
to the 35 Supporters who took part in the sponsored walk on the 26th
April from Lower Mead via the old grounds in the London Borough of
Harrow before setting off to Hendon FC. On a glorious day weather and
results wise the win at Hendon saw the Stones finish 13th in League
with East Thurrock, Folkestone and Boreham Wood falling through the
relegation trap door to join Leyton. [Pics
